If you’re hunting for a sushi spot that knows how to thrill your palate from start to finish, Momiji Sushi delivers a culinary adventure worth savoring. I started with the appetizers, and the takoyaki—crispy on the outside, molten octopus-filled goodness on the inside—set the tone beautifully. The spicy garlic edamame was addictive, perfectly charred with a punch of heat, while the crab rangoon brought that creamy-crunchy contrast I crave.
For something fresh, the kani salad with crab and crunchy cucumber was a light yet flavorful prelude to the main stars: sushi and sashimi. I went for the Sushi Deluxe, which offered a vibrant variety of nigiri over perfectly seasoned rice. The Sashimi Deluxe was equally impressive—thinly sliced, melt-in-your-mouth pieces of escolar, salmon, and scallop.
Their roll selection is where Momiji really shines. The Godzilla Roll and Vegas Roll are massive, tempura-fried beasts packed with flavor. But the premium rolls stole the show: the Rainbow Roll was an art piece of fresh fish layered over a California roll, and the Caterpillar Roll, with creamy avocado wrapped around unagi, was a sweet-savory dream.
Vegetarians aren’t left out—rolls like the Mango Roll and Tempura Vegetable Roll are as colorful as they are tasty. I also appreciated the yaki soba noodles—especially the shrimp combo—for their deep umami and just-right texture.
To finish, I couldn’t resist the mochi. The green tea and vanilla flavors were refreshing, with just enough sweetness to satisfy without overwhelming.
Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or just testing the waters, Momiji Sushi’s menu offers something uniquely satisfying at every turn.
